Tasmanian owned and operated – Cranes Combined is Tasmania’s Premier Crane Hire Company.

Originally established in February 1996 we have grown to be the largest crane hire company in Tasmania. Our diverse fleet comprises of 31 cranes ranging in capacity from 2T to 300T and we are proud to employ 40 Tasmanians on a fulltime permanent basis.

We supply these cranes from our two depots in Lampton Avenue, Derwent Park and McKenzie Street, Launceston.

Our Management Team

At each of our depots, day-to-day operations are managed by a dedicated Depot Manager and an Operations Manager. These men all come from a crane operating/rigging background and have decades of experience – so when you phone us you are talking to a local who understands your site and the unique challenges you face.

We offer on-site consultations to help with planning your crane hire and can supply Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), lift management plans, and lift drawings as required.

For any compliance or induction issues, our Compliance Officer is on hand to ensure everything meets the necessary standards.

Versatile Franna and TIDD Pick and Carry Cranes Available

Our Franna and TIDD pick and carry cranes are exceptional general-purpose machines, perfect for tasks in height-restricted areas. Designed to lift and transport units to their desired location, these cranes are especially effective for moving machinery and large items. Featuring a central articulation joint, they offer outstanding manoeuvrability in tight spaces such as warehouses, switch yards, and various job sites.

City Cranes for Challenging Sites

Our 13T and 25T Kato city cranes are designed for exceptional access to challenging locations. With a compact wheelbase, four-wheel steering, and all-wheel drive, these cranes excel in tight spaces, from narrow city alleyways to complex all-terrain environments. Maeda Mini Crawler Cranes: Versatile, Clean, and Efficient

Our fleet of Maeda mini crawler cranes includes models with capacities from 2.8 tons to 4 tons and boom lengths up to 16 meters. We’re excited to introduce our latest addition: a new, fully electric 2.85-ton Maeda crane. no diesel motor means no noise, no fumes and no soot when working in enclosed environments and this crane is compact enough to fit through a standard doorway. This innovative crane combines performance with environmental considerations, making it perfect for both indoor and tight space applications.
